Highlighted test titles (expanded view) indicate user codes for completed tests are ready to be viewed and released for official score report processing.

User Code Assignments
Clicking on any row below an expanded test title will open the list of user codes. From this list the Site Coordinator can:
- Assign user codes by manually entering participant information into each required field, then clicking the Save Changes button. Save often!
- Assign user codes by selecting participants using data uploaded through the Data Upload Tool. Assign user codes by clicking on the Assign Uploaded Data link (refer to the Data Upload Tool instructions for more information).
- Unassign and re-assign unused user codes to different test takers by clicking on the Unassign All button and re-entering new participant information for each user code.
- Add text-to-speech for eligible participants (based on an IEP) by checking the Text-to-Speech box in the far-left column.

- Apply filter options for assigned, unassigned, and in process if desired.
- Export the list of user codes to Excel by clicking on the Export to Excel link.
Data Upload Tool
Click the Data Upload Tool button to access instructions for using this feature. Use this tool to upload test taker information (e.g., name, participant ID, program name, test code) and use the uploaded data to make user code assignments. Benefits of using this tool include improved efficiency for sites with large numbers of user codes to pre-assign, improved accuracy of test takers’ information, and the uploaded data can be used for pre-testing, post-testing, and study guide user code assignments.
User Code Status
The status of each user code is listed in the User Code Status column. Click on the arrow in the Filter User Codes box, to the left of the page, to filter the list by status. Status options are explained below:
- Unassigned - User code has not been assigned to a participant and is available for use.
- Assigned - User code has been assigned to a participant, but the test has not been started.
- In Process - User code has been opened and the assessment started; all components are not completed.
- Ready - User code has been used, assessment component(s) are complete, and the user code is ready to be released for official score report processing; a checkbox is displayed in the Release for Scoring column.
- Released - User code has been released for official score report processing.
The Test Progress column displays the detail for each user code so you can easily identify what needs to be completed for those codes designated as In Process.
Preliminary Score Report
The preliminary score report is available upon participant completion of an online testing session. The preliminary total score will appear in the Test Progress column.
- Click on the View Prelim link to view, print, or email a copy of the preliminary report.
- The View Prelim link will only be available for 10 days after the user code has been released for official score report processing.
NOTE! Preliminary scores are not saved in NOCTI's system. Official scores, once user codes have been released for scoring, will be available in the Reports and Certificates section after scores are processed.
Skill-based (Performance) Ratings
If the skill-based component of a test was ordered, the total number of items to be rated will be displayed in the Test Progress column. The number of the ratings entered for a participant is listed (e.g., Performance Test: 0/38). All ratings must be entered before the user code will be ready to release for official score report processing. Preliminary score reports are not provided for skill-based assessments.
User codes must be assigned before ratings can be input. NOCTI provides two options for entering skill-based (performance) ratings:
Option 1: Click on the number link (e.g., 0/38).
- A new window will open displaying the scoring criteria for the participant's skill-based test.
- Follow the instructions provided on the ratings page.
- When finished entering ratings for a participant, refreshing the screen will update the display with the number of ratings entered.
Option 2: Ratings may also be entered using the Enter Performance Ratings option from the online testing site. A site code and Performance Rating Entry Password are required to use this option. The performance rating entry credentials can be found in the Resources section and may be provided to individuals assisting with this task, following the guidelines of the NOCTI Security Policy (e.g., teachers, teaching assistants, and paraprofessional working in the classroom may not access performance rating information). Specific instructions for entering skill-based (performance) ratings are available for download in the Resources section.
Participant and Administrator Demographics
Links for entering participant and administrator demographics are provided in the Test Progress column. Participant demographics are displayed for the participant to answer when entering the online testing system.
Administrator demographic items ask questions about special populations with respect to each participant. Administrator demographic questions are not visible to the test participant. Enter administrator demographics by:
- Clicking on the Administrator Demographics link (link is the number displayed to the far right, e.g., 0/8).
- Demographics are usually OPTIONAL, but some assessment programs may require demographic responses be completed for each participant.
- The demographics link will not be available until the user code has been assigned to a specific participant.
- Refreshing the screen will update the display after inputting demographic responses.
NOTE! Once any demographics (student or administrator) have been entered, the test status will change to In Process and the user code will no longer be able to be changed.
Release for Scoring
Once testing is complete, user codes must be released for score processing. Titles with user codes ready to be released will be highlighted in the expanded view. Release user codes by following these instructions:
- Click on the test title highlighted to open the list of user codes.
- Click on the box in the Release for Scoring column to select the user code(s) to be released, or click on the Select All box to release all user codes that are ready.
- Click the Release User Codes button.
- Select the release type by clicking on Select release type and selecting an option.
- Release by participant test date will group participants by the date they started testing. If your participants completed testing on different dates and you select this option, a report will be created for each test date.
- Release to group opens an option to select the Release Group. Click on Select a group and select the desired group from the list available. If you have not created any groups, return to Manage Groups and create groups to use this option.
- Click the Release button to finish the process.
- Official score reports will be available within two business days.
NOTE: The preliminary score reports provided when online testing is completed are not saved in NOCTI’s system and will disappear after scores are processed for reports. Save or print your preliminary reports prior to releasing scores for processing.
