Online performance rating entry provides a secure and efficient way to record and submit test taker ratings after a skill-based performance test. During testing, Evaluators document test taker performance on the Performance Evaluation Worksheet as each task is completed. After testing, ratings are entered into NOCTI’s online system by the Site Coordinator, Co-coordinator, or an authorized performance administrator. This helps support accurate and timely scoring.

There are two ways to enter performance ratings, depending on site workflow and user access.

Option 1: Enter Ratings through the Client Services Center (CSC)
This option allows the Site Coordinator or Co-coordinator to enter ratings through the “Manage Testing” section of the Client Services Center.
  1. Access the test group. Expand the appropriate test group and select the test title to view the user codes.
  2. Verify test taker details. Confirm that all user codes requiring performance ratings include both the  test taker name and unique ID.
  3. Open performance rating entry. In the Test Progress column, select the link that corresponds to the Performance Test.
  4. Enter ratings by job. Review each job and select a rating for every criterion listed.
  5. Move through all criteria. Use Next and Previous to navigate between jobs. Make sure all criteria are rated before proceeding.
  6. Finalize ratings. Select Finish after all ratings have been entered.
  7. Return to user listClose the entry screen to return to the CSC.
  8. Confirm completion. Refresh the page to view the updated progress or completion status.
  9. Release user codes. Release completed user codes to finalize scoring. Ratings for unreleased user codes will not be saved in NOCTI’s scoring database.
Option 2: Enter Ratings through the Online Testing Site
This option allows Site Coordinators, Co-coordinators, and designated performance administrators to enter ratings through NOCTI’s online testing system.

Because Performance Evaluation Worksheets contain detailed scoring criteria, access must be limited to protect assessment integrity. Teachers and teaching assistants in Career and Technical Education programs should not enter ratings online or have access to these worksheets.

Access to the performance rating tool is controlled through a performance rating entry password, which is available in the Resources section of the CSC. This password, along with the site code, allows authorized users to securely enter ratings through the online testing system.

Steps for Entering Performance Ratings
  1. Verify test taker setup. Confirm that all user codes include both the test taker name and unique ID in the CSC.
  2. Access the online testing site. Go to http://testing.nocti.org and select Enter Performance Ratings.
  3. Log in to the system. Enter the site code and performance rating entry password, available in the Resources section of the CSC.
  4. Select a test taker. Review the test taker list and select a name to begin entering ratings.
  5. Enter ratings by job. Select a rating for each criterion presented for each job.
  6. Complete all criteria. Use Next and Previous to move through the ratings until all criteria have been completed.
  7. Submit ratings. Select Finish once all ratings for the test taker are complete.
  8. Continue or exit. Enter ratings for additional test takers or log out of the system.
  9. Release user codes. Return to the CSC and release completed user codes. Scores will not be saved unless user codes are released.
Important Notes
  • Performance Evaluation Worksheets contain detailed scoring criteria and should be used by Evaluators during testing.
  • To maintain assessment integrity, teachers and teaching assistants should not enter ratings online or access Performance Evaluation Worksheets.
  • Accurate entry, complete ratings, and timely release of user codes are essential for successful scoring and reporting.
