NOCTI recognition tools help verify and showcase learner achievement through certificates, college credit opportunities, and digital badges. 

These recognition options provide meaningful ways for learners to demonstrate verified knowledge and skills to educators, employers, workforce partners, and postsecondary institutions. 

NOCTI Certification  
NOCTI Certification recognizes learners who meet or exceed the industry-established benchmark on a current NOCTI standardized assessment. This independent, industry-driven credential verifies essential knowledge and skills connected to the occupation and signals workforce readiness. 

Test takers who meet or exceed the criterion-referenced cut score on a current NOCTI standardized assessment are eligible to earn NOCTI Certification. Separate certificates are issued for the knowledge-based written and skill-based performance components, when applicable.

Certificate/Partner assessments, customized assessments, micro-credentials, and subpart-scored assessments are not eligible for NOCTI certification. 

College Credit Recommendations 
Most NOCTI credentials include college credit recommendations. Experienced industry experts and faculty working with the National College Credit Recommendation Service (NCCRS) evaluate the rigor and content of NOCTI credentials and translate them into college credit equivalencies. College credit  recommendations for NOCTI credentials can be found on the NCCRS website.  

Digital Badges 
Digital badges provide learners with a portable, shareable way to showcase verified achievement. Eligible learners receive digital badges based on their assessment performance. A valid email address must be on file to support badge delivery.

Coordinators play an important role in making sure learner information is accurate and up to date. Email addresses should be entered correctly in the online testing system, and updates can be made through the Client Services Center to support successful badge distribution.
