Ordering Remote Proctor Sessions
Remote proctoring
sessions can be ordered through the Client Services Center by
searching for NOCTI Remote Proctoring.
- Sessions may be ordered alongside new
test orders or separately if tests have already been ordered.
- Specify the number of sessions based on
the participants who will be using remote proctoring.
- Provide payment information at the time of
ordering to support timely processing.
Once
processed, a remote proctoring confirmation email will
be sent separately from the standard order confirmation.
This process helps ensure participants
have access to secure and reliable remote proctoring
while providing coordinators with clear
steps for managing scheduling.
Registering Test Takers
1. Assign User Codes
- Use
the Manage Testing module in the Client Services Center to assign user codes.
- Each
participant must have a unique participant ID.
- Assign
the name the test taker would like to appear on reports and certificates.
- If
the participant has previously tested (e.g., pre-test), use the same name and
participant ID.
- Notify
test takers of their test expiration date; expired user codes cannot be used
2. Configure Session
Settings
- Set
user codes for single session administration.
- If
a user code was ordered for multiple sessions, update it to a single session
using the Client Services Center tools.
3. Prepare Remote
Proctoring List
- After
assigning user codes, use the Export to Excel option to select
test takers for remote proctoring.
- Include only the
number of participants matching the number of purchased remote
sessions.
- Add
a column for each test taker’s email
address (required).
- Encourage test
takers to whitelist @nocti.org to prevent emails from going to
spam.
- Add
a column for accommodations (e.g., text-to-speech, extended time) if
applicable.
- Confirm accommodations
are activated in the Client Services Center.
4. Submit Remote Proctoring Agreement
- Complete
the electronic Remote Proctoring Agreement (link provided in
the confirmation email).
- Attach
the Excel file with test taker information and submit to
NOCTI.
- Important: Once a user
code is submitted for remote proctoring, it cannot be reassigned to
another participant.
Arranging Remote Proctor Sessions
- NOCTI coordinates remote proctoring
sessions within four business days of receiving the
agreement and test taker list.
- Sessions are scheduled within the
testing window aligned to the user code expiration date.
- Test takers will receive an email with
instructions to schedule their test date and time.
Note: Failure to schedule a session will result in login
credentials not being issued and forfeiture of the session.
After testing is
complete, Site Coordinators follow standard NOCTI processes
to
- Release user codes for scoring.
- Access reports and certificates.
Additional Session Information
- Missed sessions may be
rescheduled prior to the user code expiration date.
- Expired user codes require a new
remote proctoring order.
- Test takers may be alerted
if non-standard testing activity is observed by the
proctor.
- Remote proctors may pause or stop a test
if necessary.
- NOCTI receives notifications of
any non-standard activity and actions taken.
