Knowledge-Based Written Assessment Proctors
Proctors help ensure knowledge-based written assessments are administered consistently and securely. Proctors do not need to be experts in the technical area being assessed. However, they should be able to:
- Administer objective-type assessments
- Follow directions carefully and apply procedures consistently
- Monitor groups effectively
- Read and communicate instructions clearly
- Maintain a secure and appropriate testing environment
Instructors in the content area being assessed may not serve as Proctors for their own test takers or for test takers in similar educational or CTE program. This requirement applies to both online and paper/pencil knowledge-based written assessments.
