This returns policy is only applicable to purchases made by authorized Area Test Centers (ATCs) for teacher testing.

NOCTI recognizes that circumstances may result in an excess of teacher testing materials. Therefore, in accordance with this returns policy, credit (less the handling fees specified below) will be granted for the return of assessments as outlined in this policy.

All test returns must be accompanied by a completed Request for Return for Credit form.  All requested information must be provided, including site code, invoice number, etc. to process for credit. All returns result in credit on account; refunds are not issued. Returns are NOT allowed for remote proctoring services or other non-assessment products (e.g., study guides).

  • Credits on account are valid until June 30 of the year following the year the credit was issued.  For example, a credit issued in March of 2025 will be available for use through June 30, 2026. 
  • Credits on account are automatically applied to orders submitted after the credit is made available.
  • All returns are subject to the handling fees listed below.
Online Knowledge-based and Skill-based Test Returns
Credit for return of unused online testing user codes for teacher testing, both knowledge-based and skill-based, will be granted under the following conditions: 

  1. User codes must be listed on the Request for Return for Credit form.
  2. User codes must be unused and valid (expired user codes are not eligible for return for credit).
  3. Unopened, unused skill-based testing books, including unopened, unused evaluator guides, must be returned to NOCTI before the credit will be processed.
  4. User codes returned for credit will be removed from the customer’s Client Services Center.
  5. No credit will be given for expired user codes.
Paper/Pencil Knowledge-based and Skill-based Test Returns
Credit for return of unused paper/pencil test booklets for teacher testing, both knowledge-based and skill-based, will be granted under the following conditions: 

  1. Only unopened, unused, test booklets accompanied by unused answer sheets will be accepted for return.
  2. Test booklets, evaluator guides (if applicable), and accompanying unused answer sheets must be returned to NOCTI before the credit will be processed. 
  3. No credit will be given for test products purchased more than 180 days prior to the request for return. 
  4. Shipping charges will not be credited. 
Handling Fee
All returns for credit are subject to a handling fee as listed below:

  • Online user codes for knowledge-based tests - $5.00 per user code
  • Online user codes and booklets for skill-bases tests - $7.00 per user code/booklet
  • Paper/pencil test booklets - $7.00 per booklet (knowledge-based or skill-based)
  • All returns must include unused answer sheets and skill-based evaluator guides, if applicable.
