Common updates to online testing user codes include:
- Name changes
- Modifications to user code specifications (such as education level or test type)
- Expiration date extensions
- Session adjustments
- Locking item scrambling
- Enabling Text-to-speech (TTS)
Once a test taker logs into online testing using a user code, that code becomes locked and can no longer be modified. A technical support
request must be submitted via the Email Support Ticket System (nocti.helpdesk@nocti.org) in
the Client Services Center for
changes.
Name Changes
(Name corrections are most common when first and last names are entered incorrectly or transposed.)
If a test taker has not yet logged into online testing, the Site Coordinator can update the name by unassigning and reassigning the user code with the corrected information.
- To unassign a single user code: Clear the First Name, MI, Last Name, and Participant ID fields, then select Save Changes.
- To unassign multiple user codes: Select Unassign All, make the necessary updates, and click Save Changes when complete.
If a test taker has already logged in, the user code is locked and cannot be edited directly. In these cases, the Site Coordinator should submit a technical support request through the Email Support Ticket System (nocti.helpdesk@nocti.org) via the Client Services Center. All submissions are reviewed by the NOCTI Support Team and are typically addressed within one business day.
User Code Specifications
(e.g., Education Level, Test Type)
Site Coordinators can request updates on user code specifications—such as education level (secondary or postsecondary) and test type (pre-test or post-test)—by submitting a Request for User Code Alteration form. This process helps ensure accurate reporting and alignment with testing requirements. Please note that applicable fees may apply.
Expiration Date Extensions
(e.g., when testing is scheduled beyond the current expiration date)
Site Coordinators can request an extension to a user code’s expiration date by submitting a Request for User Code Alteration form. This ensures the user code remains active and available for the scheduled testing window. Please note that applicable fees may apply.
Session Changes, Time Extensions, Text-to-Speech, and Item Scramble Lock
(e.g., adjusting sessions or applying approved accommodations)
Once user codes are assigned, Site Coordinators can manage testing configurations within the Client Services Center. Available options include:
- Adjusting session settings
- Applying time extensions
- Enabling text-to-speech (TTS)
- Locking item scrambling when required
To make updates:
- Go to the Manage Testing section of the Client Services Center
- Select the assigned user code
- Choose the appropriate options
- Click Save Changes to apply updates
